With permission from all of Samsung’s hardware innovations, Galaxy AI is perhaps the most important launch the company has made in years. This AI tool assists users in their daily lives with features like real-time translation and the ability to summarize text in seconds, among others.

This Samsung feature is entirely free to use. However, rumors suggested the company intended to implement a paid subscription. Today, Samsung announced a subscription with AI tools at its core, but it’s unrelated to Galaxy AI.

Samsung Announces a “Renting” Plan for Devices with AI Features

This isn’t the first time there’s been news about a paid subscription from Samsung. Just over a month ago, the company introduced a kind of “leasing” program for home appliances with AI tools. This service allows users to have state-of-the-art devices at home without a significant upfront cost.

The newly announced subscription plan is similar. Called the “AI Subscription Club,” it lets users subscribe to a Galaxy smartphone or tablet without paying the full purchase price.

The subscription’s inclusion of the term “AI” indicates that subscribers can access Galaxy AI-enabled devices. This makes sense, as most devices with this technology are high-end models.

Initially available in the U.S. and South Korea, this plan could be a significant win for Samsung. The success of the home appliance subscription is a promising indicator—in South Korea, it accounts for nearly 30% of total store sales.
