In this post, we break down everything you need to know to access Grok, an AI chatbot developed by xAI that’s finally available to all X users. The new AI tool allows the company to join the competitive landscape of this technology. While it’s still in its early stages, you can already use it freely (and for free).

What You Need to Use Grok

To use Grok, all you need is an X account. You won’t be able to access the AI tool until you register because the platform has made it exclusively available to its users.

Previously, Grok was only accessible to paid users. However, it’s now available to all users for free. This means you no longer need a Premium account on X. You can simply log in with your standard free account and access Grok.

How to Use Grok

Grok

Log in to your X to start using the Grok AI chatbot. Once logged in, click on the Grok section in the left-side menu.

A warning will appear the first time you access Grok. It’ll inform you that the information provided may not always be accurate. This is a common issue with AI systems. Additionally, it’ll notify you that anything you write to Grok could be used to train the AI model. Your X account data can also be used for that purpose unless you adjust your account settings to opt out.

From now on, you’ll be directed to the main page every time you enter Grok. There, you’ll find a text input field where you can ask anything you want. Below the input box, you’ll see some prompts and topic suggestions.

You can ask Grok to generate text and analyze the files you upload. The AI chatbot can also provide you with recent news and headlines. It’ll choose content relevant to your country by analyzing media accounts and selected users.

Additionally, you can ask Grok to create drawings for you. The results may not yet match what some competing AI models produce. In the end, the option has been available for a short time and is expected to improve. Although X’s chatbot has some occasional censorship, it’s much less restrictive compared to other AI systems overall.
