Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro: A Return to Traditional Design in Earbuds Dedicated to Voice

In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, Samsung has introduced the new Buds 3 Pro and Buds 3. This time, the most recent generation comes with a notable change. After several years, the earbuds have returned to the traditional AirPods-like shape, a change from their characteristic “bean-shaped” design.

These are the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro, a pair of noise-canceling earbuds designed to focus on the user’s voice to get the most out of Samsung’s new Interpreter app.

The Buds 3 Pro Comes With Voice Recognition and Silicone Tips

As Samsung explains, the design change for this generation is due to “ergonomics.” The company states that some users preferred this AirPods-like form over the bean shape. It seems that Samsung has listened to its customers and decided to return to the more traditional design.

The Buds 3 Pro come with silicone tips, while the Buds 3 have an open-type format. Both models feature active noise cancellation, but the Buds 3 Pro offer better surround sound and add several noise reduction enhancements.

Both are rated IP57, and Samsung used recycled plastic in their construction. Regarding design, the Buds 3 Pro and Buds 3 models allow pinch and swipe down physical gesture controls.

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro can detect ambient noise and automatically adjust noise cancelation. They also include Siren Detect and Voice Detect, two noise cancelation enhancements that automatically adjust to the environment.

The Buds 3 have an 11 mm dynamic driver, while the Buds 3 Pro have a 10.5 mm dynamic driver plus a 6 mm flat driver. The Buds 3 Pro add two amplifiers and offer support for Ultra-High-Quality sound. Samsung has opted not to use Dolby Atmos but is promoting its high-res SSC codec.

The Buds 3 add a pre-trained AI model to restore the speaker’s voice in noisy environments and provide a clearer sound during calls. Samsung calls this feature Super Wideband.

Focusing on voice and the Galaxy AI Interpreter app, the Buds3s can also activate features like pausing music with voice commands.
