ChatGPT’s evolution doesn’t stop. Earlier this week, we talked about the new voice mode of the chatbot, an impressive new feature built on GPT-4o. Now, it's unveiling new features aimed at professional users.

OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT will be able to extract files directly from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive. In addition, it can now create interactive charts and graphs based on the analyzed data. According to the AI company, ChatGPT will be able to do all this effortlessly and using natural language.

Today, users can drag documents from any folder on their computer to ChatGPT. However, the first new announcement details the capability to integrate the chatbot with external services. Now, you can connect the AI to Google Drive and OneDrive by clicking the file attachment icon.

The integration will work just like any other service. A pop-up window will ask users if they want to permit ChatGPT to access their files. They can then browse through the folders in the cloud service to select the documents they want they want to share.

ChatGPT will scan the data and then display it in an interactive table, as you can see below. In the case of the table, the user will be able to expand it and click on specific areas to ask questions or perform actions in natural language. Let’s check out some examples.

OpenAI says this functionality will be helpful when combining monthly expense spreadsheets and allow users to, for example, create a pivot table segmented by expense type. It’s like chatting with a kind of Microsoft Excel but integrated into ChatGPT.

ChatGPT’s new features, powered by GPT-4o, promise to be useful for more complex tasks, too,  such as cleaning large data sets and segmenting specific information, which could be highly valuable in an enterprise scenario.

Regarding the visual presentation of information, ChatGPT doesn’t only produce tables. Users can also ask ChatGPT to create bar charts, line graphs, and more. In all cases, the graphs are interactive and customizable. And, importantly, you can download them.

The company, led by Sam Altman, says these features will be available “in the coming weeks,” so users must wait a bit to start using them. However, they won’t be available to everyone, just to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise members.

It’s worth mentioning that while this type of functionality may be promising, users shouldn’t lose sight of the weaknesses of AI. Generative algorithms can be mind-blowing, but it’s unclear how accurate they are.
