Do you know which version of Android Auto you have on your smartphone? If your memory is fuzzy, follow these steps to find out. Google updates Android Auto from time to time, so it’s best to know which version you have on your device to make it easier to pair with your car’s infotainment system.
To find out which version of Android Auto your smartphone has, first search for the app, which comes preinstalled on all Android phones.
Check Your Version of Android Auto
The first thing you need to do is go to your Android phone’s settings. Once you're there, click on the Apps section in the main menu.
Next, you’ll see a screen with many options related to your apps. Select Manage Apps, then search for Android Auto or tap its name into the search bar.
When you find Android Auto in the list of apps, click on it.
You’ll now see the app's info and settings. At the bottom, look for the word “Version” to see which one Google has preinstalled on your Android smartphone.
Click this option to view the Android Auto version and permissions info.
And that’s it. You now know which version of Android Auto is on your smartphone.
