How to Fix the CrowdStrike Bug on Windows

If the recent CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security update has affected your computer and caused an error, here’s a temporary workaround. Computer experts on various social networks have reported it as a potential solution.

Follow these steps:

  1. Boot Windows in Safe Mode: To avoid crashes, boot Windows in Safe Mode by pressing and holding the Shift key while you select Power > Restart from the Windows sign-in screen.
  2. Find the CrowdStrike folder: Use the File Explorer in Windows Safe Mode and navigate to the C:|Windows|System32|drivers|CrowdStrike folder.
  3. Find and delete a file: Inside this folder, locate and delete the file that matches the name C-00000291*.sys.

Restart the computer: Restart your computer normally.

CrowdStrike is also rolling out a solution for this issue, so affected devices should be able to receive the new file to stabilize their computers. If this solution isn’t sufficient, you may need to wait for a final official fix.
