The first major technology show of the year is underway. CES in Las Vegas has begun, and the world’s leading manufacturers are showcasing their plans for 2025. Among them is Samsung, which unveiled its new Samsung Vision AI.
If 2024 was defined by AI systems as a major focus for the Galaxy smartphone series, 2025 will see these advancements integrated into Samsung’s Neo QLED, OLED, and QLED TVs.
Samsung says TVs will no longer be just screens in living rooms. The new models promise to “understand the environment” and adapt to users’ preferences. Here are the first AI tools Samsung plans to include in its 2025 TVs:
- Click to Search. This feature provides instant information about what’s on the screen. Users can identify actors or ask questions about content—all through a built-in AI assistant—without leaving the screen.
- Live Translate. As the name suggests, this tool offers real-time translation of TV content. Samsung explains that it will break language barriers, making nearly any content accessible in different languages.
- Customization with generative AI. Users can personalize their TVs with AI-generated wallpapers, creating images to suit their preferences.
For now, Samsung’s AI features are built on Bixby. However, the company is open to collaborating with Google and Gemini, as it does with its smartphones.
AI tools will also enhance image and sound algorithms. Samsung’s TVs will adjust picture and sound in real-time based on the environment and content. For example, a dark movie at night won’t be configured the same way as a soccer game.
Additionally, Samsung has partnered with Microsoft to bring Copilot to its TVs and monitors. This collaboration allows users to search for information, use remote voice commands, and receive recommendations.
The flagship model for 2025, the Neo QLED 8K QN990F, will debut Samsung Vision AI. This TV boasts a massive 115-inch screen, a 240 Hz refresh rate, and the NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor.
AI functions will also extend to other new Neo QLED, QLED, and OLED models. Samsung, in particular, plans to double down on its investment in OLED technology.
