Blue Ghost Lander Becomes Second to Land on the Moon, the First to Land in One Piece

Firefly Aerospace announced that its lunar lander had successfully landed on March 2. It will now proceed to carry out two weeks of science experiments for NASA.

Lunar horizon glow. Furthermore, Blue Ghost bear witness to a phenomenon a lunar horizon glow, an event only seen by the Apollo 15 and 17 astronauts. During this event, the lunar dusk levitates because of solar influences and creates a lunar horizon glow, the company explained.

Firefly plans to capture the lunar horizon glow in 4K video and share with the public.

“With the hardest part behind us, Firefly looks forward to completing more than 14 days of surface operations, again raising the bar for commercial cislunar capabilities,” Shea Ferring, Firefly’s chief technology officer, said in a statement.
