Both laptops come with the new Microsoft Windows Copilot+ label.
The company has used its latest product launch event to simply its catalog.
We’re witnessing more and more computer manufacturers start to align with Microsoft’s latest plans. On Monday, the Redmond company unveiled the new “Copilot+” label to identify computers that are compatible with its new Windows AI functions.
HP has become one of the first companies to update its catalog with two laptop models that have the Copilot+ label: the HP OmniBook X and the EliteBook Ultra. The update also comes with a major reorganization of Microsoft’s product line.

HP OmniBook X and EliteBook Ultra
The OmniBook X and EliteBook Ultra are two 14-inch ARM laptops equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite processor. This chip is the more powerful version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X, which also has a less powerful “lite” version known as Snapdragon X Plus.
These new HP computers are powered by a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) integrated into the chip. The NPU is capable of delivering a performance of 45 TOPS, which is the minimum requirement set by Microsoft to earn the Copilot+ designation. This means that the chip is equipped to handle Windows AI functions.
In terms of storage and memory, the HP OmniBook X can be configured with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1 TB SSD. The HP EliteBook Ultra G1q, for its part, comes with 16 GB of soldered LPDDR5X RAM and a 512 GB internal PCIe NVMe SSD. Both devices are equipped with a 59 Wh battery.
The battery life is a standout feature of these devices. HP claims that both the OmniBook X and EliteBook Ultra can offer up to 12 hours of Microsoft Teams calls or up to 22 hours of Netflix playback. In some cases, the battery life can be extended for up to 26 hours.
In terms of connectivity, the two devices are identical. They both feature two USB-C ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, and an audio port. Additionally, they support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Plus, there are no differences in weight (2.97 lbs) or in the front camera (5 MP plus IR).
HP Is Reorganizing Its Product Line
As we mentioned before, HP has made an important change to its product lineup with this launch. Now, there are two categories of computers available for purchase: Omni computers, designed for home use, and Elite computers, designed for professionals.
There are several levels and additional distinctive elements in each category. The screenshot above best explains this change. It’s important to note that, with the latest launch, Microsoft is also saying goodbye to the Spectre, Envy, and Pavilion families.
Price and availability
The new HP OmniBook X and EliteBook Ultra are now available for pre-order in the U.S, and shipments will begin on June 18.
