Key Differences
The two watches differ in design. Both are round, but Samsung’s Watch6 has a more angular shape, while Google's Watch 2 has more rounded edges, similar to the Apple Watch Series 10.
Samsung’s watch comes in 1.73- and 1.57-inch versions, while Google’s is 1.61 inches. The Samsung watch is thinner but also heavier.

The Watch6’s display is significantly sharper than the Pixel Watch 2’s, with a density of 453 ppi versus 320 ppi. The brightness and panel quality are also better. However, this has a downside: The South Korean smartwatch consumes more energy during use than Google’s, although it has less battery drain when idle.
Battery life depends on usage. If you use your watch frequently, the Samsung battery will last less. If you primarily use it to check notifications or open an app occasionally, the Samsung watch will last longer.
A key difference is the charger. Samsung uses the Qi magnetic charging standard, meaning you can use other Qi-compatible chargers. In contrast, the Google Watch only works with its proprietary charger.
Internally, apart from different processors, Google has optimized Wear OS for smoother performance at times. It also includes twice as much internal storage as Samsung, allowing you to store more songs and files. However, if you carry your phone with you, this may not be a noticeable advantage. RAM is the same in both models.

Both watches include a range of sensors for exercise and health tracking. However, Samsung supports 60 sports in its exercise app, while Google’s device supports 40 and relies on Fitbit, which requires a paid subscription for full functionality. Google bought Fitbit several years ago, so if you want to explore the benefits of its ecosystem, check out this Fitbit vs. Garmin comparison.
When choosing between brands, consider the ecosystem. If you have a Samsung phone, its watch is the best fit, as the health app integrates seamlessly. If you use a Google smartphone, you have more watch options.
Overall, the Samsung watch excels in key areas, including battery life and multiple size options. However, the Google Watch offers a more refined native Wear OS experience.
