Each earbud includes a Tensor A1 chip for sound and AI processing.
Silent Seal 2.0 active noise cancelation evaluates the environment up to 3 million times per second.
According to Google, these earbuds are 24% lighter and 27% more compact than the previous Pixel Buds Pro. That sounds good, but we’ve only scratched the surface for now. These Pixel Buds Pro 2 are the first earbuds equipped with the Tensor A1 chip, specialized in handling AI processes. They’re also the first designed to coexist with Gemini, Google’s advanced AI model.
One of the most attractive features offered by the integration of this AI model is the possibility of becoming a virtual assistant that we can use, for example, to receive directions when walking down the street, reminders, and music recommendations. According to Google, we can even have long conversations with Gemini on virtually any topic.

They Promise the Best Noise Cancellation Due to Tensor A1 Chip Power
The noise cancellation technology implemented by Google in these earbuds is undoubtedly their most attractive feature, along with the integration of Google Gemini. According to Google, the Tensor A1 chip in each earbud intervenes in sound processing to increase the sound scene’s resolution, precision, and size that these Pixel Buds Pro 2 can reproduce.
The first Pixel Buds Pro had very high-quality active noise cancellation. Google promises that the one in these new earbuds is even better. The Silent Seal 2.0 technology cancels up to twice as much noise as its predecessor and, again, according to Google, is more effective at blocking the higher frequencies that are the most difficult to cancel. There’s no doubt that this innovation looks exceptionally good, but until we test these headphones thoroughly, we won’t know for sure if they’re up to the task.
Interestingly, the Tensor A1 chip is also largely responsible for these earbuds’ autonomy. It monitors their operation to minimize consumption. With noise cancellation activated, they have a maximum battery life of 8 hours, which increases to 30 hours when using the charging case. Without noise cancellation, the battery life is almost 12 hours and reaches 48 hours with the case.
