E3 has been officially dead for a while now. However, this year, we've been able to see some exciting events in the video game industry. After the excellent Xbox Showcase 2024, a new Nintendo Direct has arrived.

The Japanese gaming company didn’t give provide any new information about the Nintendo Switch 2, but it did unveil many titles that will be coming to the current-gen hybrid console over the next few months. Below are some of the highlights.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Nintendo has expanded its famous The Legend of Zelda franchise with Echoes of Wisdom. The new action-adventure game will be available on September 26. Here’s the trailer:

Unlike previous releases, gamers will play as Princess Zelda in this edition. It’s a new story about saving the Kingdom of Hyrule from a series of thefts that emerged from strange cracks and other threats.

Hyrule will benefit from the magical power of the fairy Tri to create echoes, which are imitations of things she finds in her environment. These will allow her to build bridges with old objects, throw stones at enemies, or create blocks to reach new heights.

The company also announced a gold-colored Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition, adorned with the Hylian shield and inspired by The Legend of Zelda series. It will be available in the U.S. and Japan first and then in the rest of the world.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

We’ve been waiting a long time for news on this game. Nintendo first announced Metroid Prime 4: Beyond in June 2017. Since then, the project has changed and hit a few roadblocks.

Following the release of Metroid Prime Remastered in 2023, the Japanese company has a new gift for its fans. The promised and long-delayed game will arrive on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2025.

The best part of the announcement, besides the release date, was that Nintendo revealed the snippets of its gameplay, which consolidates our hope of finally being able to play it. In it, we see the protagonist, Samus Aran.

The video lets us visualize the gameplay in detail: shooting mechanics, setting, graphics, and much more. Everything indicates that it will provide hours of fun.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Mario and Luigi now have a “brotherly bond.” The iconic Nintendo characters will embark on an all-new adventure, an RPG released on Nov. 7, and take us to an island.

The trailer shows the famous plumbers, accompanied by their allies, facing various threats. We also see some familiar characters, such as Princess Peach, the evil King Bowser, and his minions.

As is typical with this franchise, the new title will feature colorful scenes and tandem attacks. It seems that there will be a lot of fun moments and small activities, such as solving puzzles.
